happening friday night... haha

cmi told me that he was going to meet ah zai during dinner to look for some place in chinatown, in temple street... at 7.30pm. so i went to chinatown point at that time only to find both not there yet. ah zai was still on the train while cmi was with his crazy boss who had afro hair. anyway cmi told me to go to temple street to find him first but i decided to wait for ah zai because cmi's directions isn't.... exactly the best. (think the liang seah street incident.) so i bought a lemon lime drink and sat outside macs and played my spongebob squarepants gameboy game while waiting for the 2, while ah zai got lost inside chinatown mrt station. the poor thing walked one whole round of the station before finding the correct exit. by then, i had already finished like 10 stages and killed 2 bosses in my game. pretty amusing i must say. i must have laughed out loud or smiled to myself when i was playing it.

anyway, the non-existent one who finally appeared and i walked to temple street.... but we had to pass mosque street, pagoda street and finally temple street to get there. no sign of cmi there so we told him to meet us at the centre junction of the street, opposite yum cha. while waiting for him, i looked up to one of the shophouses diagonally opposite yum cha and i noticed that the walls were painted red, almost the shade of an SQ girl's nails. and they hung these chee-na looking red lanterns on the ceiling. the name of the pub was "backstage". i told ah zai, "wah lau. this place looks like a brothel lor..."

when he looked up, he noticed this vertical rainbow stripe flag hung on the outside of the windows..... that was when i made a discovery that if they hang such a flag outside anywhere, it indicates that place is a gay place. woooooo.... i later noticed this poster of 2 half naked men on the door upstairs. hahhaha.... so when cmi finally arrived with his afro-hair boss, i told him to go up there.. but he screamed a very firm "NNNNOOO!" when he saw the poster...... kekekkeke...

we finally settled on some dim sum late at night (it was already 8.30pm when we started eating, i think.) and the whole place seemed to have run out of the so important sambal chilli to go with my dim sum. and they ran out of egg tarts and century egg porriage. so cmi replaced the congee with scallop cheong fan which didnt seem to show any traces of any scallops. the most amusing thing that happened there was when ah zai asked cmi to explain what was a prawn cheong fan.

ah zai : "what is this prawn cheong fan har?"

cmi : "oh, well, its made out of this thing that is really silky and soft.... and there are prawns inside........."

both ah zai and i laughed at his detailed explanation for a really long time before we could really order our food. the food was relatively alright and it came up to about $10 for each person. cmi treated me as he owed me for miffy's present.

we could not stand the cny crowd at the happening bazaar and we walked out to the main road pretty quickly. from there, cmi started bringing the 2 of us on an extensive chinatown tour, starting from tanjong pagar area, followed by the duxton hill area (we went up this staircase next to the pub that i went to for backfire king's 21st birthday), then walked towards the mini red light district area (keong saik street) where there were interesting boutique hotels (the royal peacock hotel, the tropical hotel - i hope i got the name right and hotel 1929. i had seen hotel 1929 featured in design magazines before and i was really impressed with the design. wish i can go stay there for one night. but dunno for what. haha....

here is an extract from hotel 1929's website :
"Each of the 32 hotel rooms come with different designer chairs.Guests will find that no two rooms are alike, with everything from furnishing and beds right down to the clear glass bathrooms being unique. Hotel 1929 also offers 2 specially designed suites with outdoor baths set in tropical roof gardens that overlook the bright lights and bustling streets of charming Chinatown. Unique, hip and comfortable, rooms are stylish yet truly affordable."

we then walked into this cute book cafe called whatever and i thought it had a very nice environment to it and just when i was all ready to chill out there, my balloon was burst when they said that the cafe closed at 9.30 while the reading area opens till a bit later. oh well, i will definately go back there soon. forgot to take their name card though. shucks.

i threatened to push cmi into a pub with a rainbow flag hung outside whenever i saw one. hahahhahaha...

so we slowly ventured to pearls centre opposite (the sleaze building with happening RA movie titles. we were feeling lost and dying to go somewhere to sit and chill for the rest of the night, so i finally decided to take 54 to clarke quay area. when we got on the bus, we forgot to press the bell at our stop and when we remembered, ah zai could not press the bell on time and later it resulted to a small squabble on whose fault it was to press the bell. : D

so we alighted at UE square and they decided to go to the gallery hotel where there was some pub that the 2 knew about. by the time we got there, my heels were killing my feet and calves, and..... the place was too noisy and that meant that we had to scream and shout at the top of our lungs to hear each other. so idea scratched. this resulted in more walking.

so we walked by the river which smelled terrible. i said it smelt of dead fish. ah zai said it smelt of boiled eggs. i think it was a combination of both. bleh........ finally, after more fruitless decisions on where to go, cmi decided to go to cafe cartel. which was conveniently taken over by a new cafe called "butter fingers". so we conveniently walked in to get our drinks.

we each had a milkshake of a different flavour.

me - chocolate
ah zai - strawberry
cmi - banana with vanilla ice cream

their shakes were not bad but for some reason, i can never find the same chocolate milkshake that i used to have at milano's pizza long long time ago. i have tried so many place's chocolate milkshake, and none can ever match it. oh well.

so we hung around until 3 plus, reminising about our poly days and talked about the scandals and gossips in our 3 years.... and ah zai and i laughed over a really funny matter about cmi. i knew that it was very unglam to laugh so loudly in the cafe but i really could not control myself. kekekekeke.... we also talked about who were the people that we could work with and not. one of our more interesting cafe talks i must say.....

when we finally decided to leave (i had to work the next day!) it was already 3 plus. on the way to the UE square bus stop, we saw many policemen and 1 police car and van. i noticed many people sitting outside cheeky monkeys and i swear that there were many many indians around then. when we walked past the policemen, i told ah zai, "zaihan! u ex-cop! go help them lar!"

"you didnt have to say that so loud lor! wah, i must say, this police division have no good looking policemen! or women!'

"har? there are good looking police around meh?!"

he then explained that his division where he used to work at had so many good looking people..... i wonder why. hmmm... must go check it out. maybe can go there to report loss of wallet or something next time. hahahhhhahahaa....

surprisingly, i didnt feel very sleepy at work and i met bunny for body step class at 3pm. to be continued........

darn. i just kicked over my room's dustbin and everything spilled out. whooo pee....

unhappening week....

nothing much to update really cause nothing exciting or happening has happened.... except that today, patrick called me in the evening to tell me that he has managed to contact ah zai!!!! wow!! i really thought he has become non-existent man... cmi wanted me to go visit ah zai with me but i guess patrick beat us to it.. :D apparently the poor guy has been sick so oh well, i just hope he is feeling better now and ready to answer our calls and messages... :P

i received a parcel the other day from the USA except that nobody was home to receive it so i had the parcel transferred to my office instead. when i called singapore post to redirect my parcel, they use this weird system and you have to "speak" out your answer like "say yes if you want blah blah". i wanted to slam down the phone halfway but decided not to. hmmm... and the funny thing about this parcel is i have not bought anything online for the longest time and i was not expecting anything at all!! so i was kept in suspense for 2 days and today when i collected it, i realised it was a christmas gift exchange from the pony forum which i had forgotten all about (luckily i sent out my exchange already). wow. im looking forward to chinese new year and i have already forgotten christmas... :P anyway, the date on the parcel said december 3rd!!! what the.........

might be going for jam x this sat to see bunny's darling's band perform for the competition... the same one that backfire king participated in last year.... i really dont mind going for it cause the band is really good honestly. i just hope it doesnt rain........... gee....

backed out of meeting chinki tonight cause i was feeling so lethargic today. felt like my energy has been zapped out of my body. but i guess i cant beat bunny having to teach a class with students like "the aruls and sidhaeshs", who would comment on certain things said... haha... lol

gotta sleep now and i hope i dun get insonmia again........................

dinner with miffy

took a zillon years just to log in to blogspot....

last night i was invited to "miffy's" bday dinner at centrestage... a new restaurant at the half-baked renovated marina square. the whole shopping centre was in 3/4 renovation and the other 1/4 was open.... but i think they should just open the place when EVERYTHING has been fully renovated.... just looks very half-baked and i don't think i would want to go back there until it is done.

anyway, centrestage is one of the 6 new restaurants at marina, and miffy did the graphics for that certain one.... there is another restaurant called "six & seven" simply because that lot for the restaurant is 6 & 7.... wow. thought i could see the new menu design that miffy is doing for the owner but apparently its not out yet so, oh well. she seemed very hesistant and vague about who she invited for her dinner but i thought it was just a small quiet dinner for a few close friends. i did not expect her to book tables for 30 people!!! and she said that a lot of people backed out in the end.. but from the crowd that turned up, there seemed to be about.... 20 people?? not too bad what... i thought like only 8 people were going to turn up.

i was basically the first to arrive at the place, though i was like... 15 mins late. so i just sat at this sofa nearby and messaged c.m.i. who was supposed to go for this dinner as well, but he was rushing some work that night, and stuck in his office with his 2 super stressed out bosses and the office dog. haiz.. and ah zai?? no sound no nothing from him for almost 1 and a half weeks. the last i saw and heard from him was when he came down with a flu. anyway, c.m.i. assured me that ah zai will re-surface again when he is well. i really hope so cause i thought something might have happened to him.

after 5 mins of waiting, miffy appeared with chee keong (i think thats how to spell his name) the fireman whom i have met a few times and this other guy whose name i cant remember but he is a primary school teacher. the funny thing about these 2 guys is that, both have been chatting on msn for a YEAR and last night was the first time they have ever physically met. i thought it sounded very SDU, but it turned out that the fireman was interested in learning kayaking (correct sp or not??) and miffy knew the teacher (who seems to also teach kayaking outside) and gave the fireman his contact. ooooooooooooohhhhh......

anyway, as we sat down and chatted for a while, this guy (whose name i also cannot remember) who looked a bit like chrissy-poo from SI (but not bad looking lar) sat down at our table. he is miffy's friend from aussieland and somehow they knew each other from another aussie friend and blah blah blah. he was speaking in this aussie accent which i thought was a bit irritating since he was a chinese but it turned out that he is born there and he came to Singapore to work for his internship. He studies medicine apparently. He was also wearing this brown suit jacket over his casual t-shirt. hmmm...

slowly, our table turned into the "we-dun-have-a-clique-and-dun-know-anyone-else-so-we-are-sitting-together" group, as another guy called Zhihao, from Maris stella sec previously knew our mutual friends like Hans, Jiaming and Shushen. So we all sat and chatted together as the aussie guy started asking around what does everyone do and small talk. It was quite entertaining as he was extremely amused with the fireman cause he just ran 10km before coming to this dinner. of course he went back to the station to bathe and change first. today, the fireman is going for his 20km cycling session from MacRichie Reservoir to Bukit Timah. Wah... so exciting...

This other group of girls appeared and miffy thought i could join them and be more comfortable with that group but i noticed that they are already a clique of their own, so it would not be so nice for me to barge inside. so i stayed put at my quite interesting table. Dinner was biffet style of pizza, salad, 3 different types of pasta and sushi. Sushi?? everyone was flabbergasted to see the sushi on the table but anyhow we just ate whatever was in front of us. hope the whole buffet wasnt too ex for miffy..... oh, she also passed me my belated bday and xmas gift. it was a cute pink swarovski crystal-led snauzher pendant, that could also hang as a hp strap. she wanted me to wear the pendant for her there to make her happy but i hung it on my phone instead. heh...

finally got her to open her present that i bought and she seemed to like what i got.... its a bag from this brand called ness.... funny name but its a posh looking bag that both of us could not figure how to carry! but nevermind la, just be creative can already.

they finished the night with a chocolate cake that looked extremely messy after it was cut and the rest went off to thumper in goodwood (heh heh ridz...) for some drinks. didnt join them as i was still a little high on my drowsy medication earlier in the day so i just went straight home. it was also a night where i ate all the food that was not good for my throat and i swear i can feel the after effects now... haiz.... bleh

what a boring sunday afternoon...................

sick and angry day

today was an angry day for me. i was basically angry at my friend who thinks she knows what she is doing with her life. i am not going to disclose who she is, but all i can say is that she doesnt read my blog, so its not any of my close friends who read this.

anyway, i think i got angry for the wrong reason as well, cause i think it was just a clash of ideas. ideals really... not ideas. she is playing with fire and she thinks its fun. i feel she is overbearing in some ways and very "xiao qi" in certain aspects. she thinks she is slowly getting revenge, but i think she is slowly bringing herself on a ride - to a land of hurt. but you know what, i think she is going to end up hurt. really bad too. and guess what. this is going to be mean, but if she does end up hurt, im going to be really bad and say that she asked for it and im not going to be there for her. she is taking someone for granted and i think its not going to end up very pretty.

i keep quiet and remain calm when i hear her complaining about something. because im actually pissed deep inside. i feel she thinks she is like the greatest thing on earth and the most desirable. now, things may look good on her side, but i know its going to dark and gloomy later.

and you know what. i dont know why im so angry about this actually. because im being angry with someone on how she is running her life and i am in no position or have any right to say anything. but i think im feeling this way because i have lost respect for her. really.

ok. end of rant.

although i would have typed more if i wasnt feeling so bad now. im also physically sick at the moment and i nearly wanted to throw up by the roadside twice on the way home. my head feels heavy and i feel a little faint sometimes. i have lost my hearty appetite. hahahahaa... this kinda reminds me of the time when i was angry with someone for an entire week. where i totally lost my appetite and lost 2 kg. but im not sick because of being angry with someone now. it had to be my combination of green chicken curry, strawberry ice cream and freshly baked cupcakes last night. bleh........ feeling very 'blah' now.

oh my god. what a depressing blog. better go sleep now and hopefully be able to drag myself out of bed tomorrow for work. darn.

back to the gym....

back to work today, and back to my usual gym routine.. missed the crazy body combat classes recently because of the holidays and also lazy to go..... and i think i was not the only one. everyone in class today seemed to lack the usual crazy stamina and energy to go on during the class today... and i thought my arms were going to tear off in the middle of the class....

feeling bloody ugly today cause there are 2 pimples on my chin (and its really red too!) and 1 pimple to be on my right cheek, and pimples-to-be on my forehead!! wah lau....... wish i can just hide at home and hibernate... just like sandy (the squirrel i think from spongebob squarepants) who hibernated for the whole winter while spongebob and patrick was stuck inside her ice-box.... anyway, i also rented 4 spongebob vcds, "the village" (which i just watched and dragged my poor brother to sit through it, and i didnt understand it.......) and "the terminal"... hope to finish watching all by wednesday.... and incidentally, the guy's name at video ezy was taufik... i nearly laughed out loud when i saw his name tag...

the mascara woman was telling me about one of her friends who earn quite a lot and she apparently spends more than she earns... for instance, she went for liposuction on her tummy and her thighs... which costs..... $5,000!! wah lau... and she isnt doing anything to keep her weight that way. and oh... i forgot to mention that the girl who went for liposuction is thin!! and the doctor sucked out 2 litres of fats!! wah lau... if i go ah, sure will be at least 30 litres lor... wonder whats the formula for litres of fats = kg??? if there is even such a formula... hahahhaa..

anyway, back to the mascara woman... so meow and i were casually commenting that her friend seems to be a very insecure person as well... considering that she wanted to do a boob job even though she is like a.... 75c!!! what the....... dont understand man. i think i should commit suicide already lor... so i commented again "well, it seems that all beautiful girls are actually very insecure people." and mascara woman just replied very confidently... "no what!"

when i heard her answer i just collapsed onto meow and i so wanted to jump through the frosted glass panel behind me..... but too bad it was not openable otherwise i would have done a flying stingray jump from the gym level in paragon... but i couldnt stop laughing for a really long time because she was still explaining to me that her skin is as thick as an elephant. well..... ahem... i should think so too.... cough cough....

i look really fat in the photos that c.m.i took of me lor..... bleh....... :P must......... do..... something about it........

bunny just showed me her colour splash photos... the very first roll of her new bday pressie from her drew drew..... it looked kinda scary but i think it can turn out very interesting.. but should take some time for her to adjust to it.... here are 2 photos of drix (andrew's dog) that i stole from her online album...... shhhh... dun tell her ok?? hahhahahahahaahhaha!!!

drix's photos are by bunny..... better credit her otherwise i get chopped and baked in her muffins... :P
