Longan gang outing again.....
Last night I met up with the usual people from the Longan gang… Ah zai asked if anybody wanted to meet up but we could not decide where to go. Ah Zai was sick of the usual expensive and boring food in town, so he was open to suggestions. Even to go to Tampines to find CMI, who was in TP’s library. I didn’t know that you can sign up to access the TP Library… In the end, CMI told us to meet in Siglap. I refused to take the super long bus ride from my office alone, so I went to town to meet Ah Zai first. The bus journey was rather cold and he was telling me that he wanted to get a nice $90 jacket from NUM at the Hereen, and dunno made up of what stylo soft material… And dunno why he didn’t get it in the end. The bus ride was a little unfamiliar to me as the windows in the bus were all fogged up and it was very misty outside. Thought we were going to miss our stop and end up at Bedok Interchange ok.
During the bus ride, Ah Zai whipped out a small packet of Famous Amos cookies… while both of us were munching on a cookie, one of the nuts inside his cookie rolled out and fell to the floor…. To which he said, “Oh no……… I lost a nut….” I was trying so hard not to laugh too loudly… so I offered him some water to drink. He nearly spilled the water on himself because the bus suddenly jerked… “And now, I nearly wet myself…….” I think the person next to me must be controlling her laughter so much…………
When we reached Siglap, we met up with CMI but we again, could not decide what to eat, so we walked around and we finally decided on Canadian Pizza……. Which was across the road. I tried to lead the rest by jay walking but I decided against it as it was too dangerous. As I walked to the traffic light, I told them, “I don’t want to die before I eat!”
I realized shortly that I was talking rubbish, then CMI and I tried to re-phrase my sentence in the correct way, but it turned out even worse…. Felt quite bimbo actually. It turned out that the Canadian Pizza across the road was only for deliveries and no dine in…. So backfire. In the end, CMI made a rather good suggestion to eat at a nice quiet North Indian fast food style place. Except that the waiters will serve us the food. For some reason, when the 3 of us walked into the place, most of the patrons turned to look at us! I think we look weird??? Dunno… anyway, a nice friendly waiter gave us the menu and asked if we needed help. We felt HERO so we said no thanks and that we will order later. But in the end, the 3 of us just stared at the menu and didn’t know what to order! I only saw the Naan and the chicken masala…. Wanted to look for the mashed spinach with cottage cheese, but it wasn’t on the menu… [actually they have it lar, but must ask for it. ] So the friendly waiter came back and asked if we needed help again…. This time we were too happy to.
So our dinner consisted of :
Chicken Masala
1 Butter Naan and 1 Naan stuffed with some food
Chicken Briyani
Some crispy thing with yogurt sauce
CMI, Ah Zai and I shared all that and I had my mango lassi of course… heh heh… Taste just like a super thick mango flavoured Vitagen… CMI kept stating the obvious last night for some reason… first, he pulled out a carpet sample which had some lines…. Then he said, “This carpet is very nice…….. because it has all these lines running across it…..”
Ah Zai went, “Isn’t that obvious?? We can clearly see that for ourselves, Susie…..”
Later on, his orange juice was overflowing out of his tiny glass. After looking up from his work, he did it again……..”Oh! Oh!! My orange juice is overflowing out of my glass!”
I just slapped my hand against my forehead. Waited for Gaz to appear and when he did, he ordered a platter of kebabs and a butter naan…. And he ordered that dessert which I had at Riverside Tandori… the one that tasted like some condensed milk dessert…. And the bill came up to $40 including Gaz’s share!! Which was pretty cheap when you divide it 4 ways…
Our next destination was “The Cheesecake Cafe”… I’ve always wanted to go there but for some reason, I never get there. But we had to sit outside because someone wanted to smoke…. Hmmph! :P I was too full to order any cakes or even drinks so I just sampled everyone’s drinks and drank water. We yakked about everything again and I suddenly asked them about their PSLE aggregate… Everyone kept saying that their aggregate was very low, but mine was the lowest!! Ah Zai had an astronomical amount of 267 or something along that line…….. While mine was 200… Why har???? Why is my PSLE aggregate so low… hmm…
Mr Bedok came to join us halfway and both of us went to the toilet at the same time. On the way to the end of the shophouse, Mr Bedok spotted 2 of his friends and went to chat with them… On the way back, he was holding his laptop and walking back to his friends. I was thinking, Har?? Thought u wanted to go toilet?? Heehee… By 11.30pm, we were contemplating how to get home and took a cab with CMI and Ah Zai. When Ah Zai told the cab driver to go faster on the Nicoll Highway, he just commented something about the speed limit at 70km/h. Then when asked to go to City Hall MRT station instead of Dohby Ghaut, he nearly overshot!! Haiyoh….. Lousy…
Going to meet Bunny in a few hours to get a Mother’s Day gift for our mummies and of course…. My free entertainment for the week.... *winks*
