Blink Blink.......

What a weekend… On Saturday, I decided to go for the Finals of Mr Singapore to support Mr Bedok and pay a wonderful $25… since I had no exciting plans for the weekend. So I asked Gaz if we should get flowers for him, and guess what?? Gaz made 1 A1 and A0 size banner for Mr Bedok! So sweet right…

Had a free High Tea with my parents at Hotel Phoenix’s coffee house [so Tai Tai right, high tea… haha] at 3.30pm. Our whole family was starving till then because all we had before that was a bowl of fishball noodles at 8.30am!! The high tea was not bad…. Lots of people were queing up for the prata, and I managed to grab one piece only and lots of curry!!! Hhahaa…And for some reason, the fried bee hoon was not bad… the food there somewhat made me feel like I was in some friend’s house… as in, like party food u know?? The chocolate cake dessert was gone half and hour after the high tea started…

We went back to the carpark afterwards and apparently, my mum took the cashcard out of the cashcard machine and placed it on the pull out tray, so that my dad could take it when he reached the barrier downstairs. However, when we reached the exit, the cashcard was gone!! So there was a frantic and chaotic situation where all of us were practically pulling the car apart and checking under the carpets. After 10 mins of that, the missing cashcard was no where to be found. I think my mum dropped it outside the car, but my parents didn’t think so. Luckily my mum had another cashcard and we managed to get out of the Specialist Centre carpark. She even asked the security guard if she could use her EZ link card!! I so wanted to throw myself off the 3rd storey.

Anyway, Ah zai was supposed to pass me his Mr Singapore ticket cause he realized that he was supposed to watch Film Fest with his tall friend, Matilda, as he had mixed up the timings for both the events!! But………. It turned out that Mat, had mixed up the date for the event! The film fest was actually the day before!! So poor thing… so Ah Zai had to re-instate the property of his ticket and I had to get mine at the door.

The event was held at the Glass Pavilion at Far East Square, the same place that Uncle Ariff held his wedding many years ago. Apparently, their wedding was the first to be held there.. The pageant turned out to be quite formal, and I was super casually dressed. The heat was killing me and I refused to wear jeans or anything longer than short sleeves. When the event started, we were killed by an overdose of the advertisements from the sponsors. The Clear White advertisement was horrible too.. although Sylvester endorsed it.

Poor Mr Bedok did not get into the Top Ten at all… We were so sad, despite none of us wanting to hold up the banners. I wanted to leave when they announced the Top Ten, but cannot lar. Waste my $25. The MC, was terrible. He was purposely accentuating certain words and had zero sense of humor. When they showed a close up of his face on the big screen behind, his face looked really oily! The sarcastic guy suddenly nudged me,

“Eh, Denise, you got tissue or not??”

“Huh...... Why??!”

“His face very oily lar… must wipe…”

On my other side, Ah Zai and Gaz were saying that his face looked like a kwali… [correct spelling??] I thought Mr Punggol was a sure to win, but it turned out that he didn’t even get into the Top 5!! You could see how shocked he was when they did not announce his name… When he did his catwalk, he had a super cocky face that said, Im going to win this….. YEAHHHHH….. Mr Bedok not in the Top 10, so we all bitch about the rest lor……. Mr Hougang was looking very good and I didn’t even realize it was him because I could not recognize him!! I thought he looked really bad in the
Mr Singapore website!!

After they announced the winner, we could not stand the MC any longer, so we hurriedly left and took photos with Mr Bedok behind the Glass Pavillion. Walked to Lau pa sat for a late dinner [I could not eat.. still full from high tea…] and Mr Bedok was very upset over something…. After he cooled off, Gaz forced me to go for Karaoke at Apollo Centre! I was fine with it, as long I did not need to sing or dance. Hahahaha… And we walked allllllllllllll the way to Apollo Centre!! Lucky I was not wearing my heels.. if not I sure kill him one.

Everyone was such a good singer and only me and Sacastic guy did not sing.. Looks like Saggies are bad singers. Haha! Ok, anyway, Gaz could really hit the high notes man... Watched a lot of music videos and extremely cheesy ones too. So porn star the models! Nearer the end, Donovan came and sang a few songs… He sang this malay song very well!! So impressed. So fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese… and now can sing Malay songs!! Waaa… and now… I think Jay Chou songs are not bad… provided its not Jay singing it. Also learnt a new word, “Cinta Kita” I think!! Which means, Our love…….. Cinta being love. And Kita is our… Whenever I kept seeing a word or phrase being repeated like, 10 times in the song, I will ask my translator next to me…

Mr Bedok could really sing the super emotional Malay songs man……. And he was also the extra backing vocals for some songs…. Ah Zai and CMI tried to irritate me with Mariah Carey’s songs [they know that I hate her!!] but luckily, they chose “One Sweet Day” which happens to be a song I like actually… hahaha… And one other song, which I cant remember… CMI chose Beyonce’s Crazy in Love for Ah Zai, but it turned out to be the music video which I apparently have not seen!! So hopeless me… And I was shocked at her dance moves!! So scary! I thought she was going to break her leg or something ok! Then she looked like she was wearing just lingerie in one scene… wooo… Ah Zai ended the song by dancing to the last dance sequence of the video for us……. Kekekkeke…

I got hungry halfway and we could not find any place for supper still open then…. So we walked to this place opposite Bras Basah!! Nearly died when I reached there…… Turned out that there was no food available, so we walked to this 24hr place opposite Sunshine Plaza… I thought my legs and stomach were going to give way halfway…… The food wasn’t too good but at least I had something inside my stomach…. Ugh.

Poor Mr Bedok said that he lost 6 kg in 2 weeks just for this pageant!! And he had to be a little dehydrated so that his muscles will be more defined!! Oh my god….. I now see them in a different light…….

Just collected my new free trial of Toric soft lens… It fits fine… but my eyes dry up very easily… so its getting blur now…. The optician told me to blink my eyes more often!! Ok…. Blink….. Blink……. Blink……………..
