Unlucky Friday!
What a week it has been for me. A series of unfortunate mishaps for the whole week (ok la, just a few things that happened in a few days) and just feeling pretty Suay...... And to think that i was just mentioning to Bunny the other day in Borders to set up a blog for the 3 of us (Me, chinki and herself) for us to blog out our misfortunate events in our mundane lives and i kept bugging her to come up with a good blog title. Because the only one that i could come up with was, "Mishaps of the 3 Bunnies". She totally refused to use that and said that anything else would be better than that! But she still has not come back to me about the title. Quick! I need to blog about my mishaps! Hahahhaa!
Well, let's start off with Friday. Went to site with Lao Ban and on the way back from site, she decided to drop by the Cold Storage Jelita to grab some mouth tasting cookies (she say one. i didnt get to try it though) and from there, i got a packet of Ribena. Once we reached our office, i decided to cap my Ribena (it was capped real tightly ok!) and put it in my bag since it was a short distance from the car to upstairs. And in my bag, i had my digi cam, notebook and my usual barangs. However, this bag's attachment by the sides werent designed to hold such a heavy load so it gave way! And down came my bag, ribena and everything else! The cap of the Ribena didnt pop out, but some of it spilled out (somehow!) and soaked my handphone, ipod sock (only, thank god!), and the sides of my notebook. After my bag dropped, i just casually picked it up grumbled about my spoilt bag (because i didnt know that everything inside was being drowned in Ribena at that moment) and when i reached office, i wailed to Mr Easy that my bag was spoilt!
I asked him if there was anything to salvage the spoilt attachment and he picked up some cable (honestly dunno where he got it from! must be from the floor or something) and tied it to my bag. But the cable was orange in colour and it didnt match with my green and white bag so i asked if there were any other colours for the cable. He said he wanted to kill me for that request. Anyway, after i pulled out my phone and placed it on the table, it was only then that i realised my phone had switched off by itself and was soaked with Ribena! So i had to quickly remove the battery and sim card and tried to dry them. After a while, i put them back but the screen started to flicker like some old Tv! Super sad case lor. Was so depressed for the rest of the day.
I wailed to Ah Zai as well and told him to call me on my office phone only. There, i also tried to enquire around where i could buy a Holga Lomo. After going through all the contacts that the lomo society woman passed to me, it seemed that only Taka's Kino and Objectives had it! So once again i had to bug Ah Zai to help me get the only piece in Taka's Kino (he was in town anyway) just in case it was sold out by the time i got down to town after work! So i told him to meet me at Peninsula to buy my special film after i found out that the photo shop closes at 730pm. But by the time both of us got there at 730, it was closed! Super irritating lor! Backfire again!!
Luckily i managed to get 2 rolls of medium format film from the Aldephi opposite and i was slightly happier. Took a bus to Park Mall (now mispronounced as Pork Mall by Ah Zai, haha!) to meet Gaz but we decided to go to Hans to grab our dinner first. The strawberry smoothie was terrible and i only had 2 sips of it. Until Gaz appeared. He apparently like it, so i passed it to him and i ordered tea instead! Whahahaa... 3 of us had grilled fish which i think is one of the best from their menu........ There i wanted to load the film into my Holga, but according to the instructions, it said, "Please load your film in subdued lighting only." So obviously i could not do so in the fluorescent lit Hans. Went to Olio upstairs to have a drink and i managed to load the film there. But my flash was not working! So irritating..... So i took some pictures and finished my roll really quickly (only 12 shots in one roll ok) without my colour flash. Sad case again.

Mooncakes and burnt lanterns galore
Woke up with an extremely painful right eye and found out that i had a really bad infection in my right lower eyelid. Was contemplating going to the doctor's before i go off to play badminton with my ex-collegues, but i remembered that i had to wear the eye patch for a few hours so that was a no-no before playing badminton. Met up with Miss Hungry and Lady who were waiting for me at the pet shop near Stardus (the place where we booked the courts) and i tried to tell a very groggy sounding Mr Easy where the place was. He sounded really different on the phone. Must be the morning voice. Rented one racket from the info counter for $2 and the racket turned out to be surprisingly light and good! I had 4 rackets but one of the racket's handle was really dirty! As in, the tape had gotten all black and sticky and i didnt know it until Lady's right hand turned black! Miss Hungry had never played badminton before so i taught her how to serve properly. I explained to her how to do the serve correctly and before i could finish teaching her how to hit the shuttlecock, she wanted to start playing and hopped off to the other side of the court! Wah......... some people so confident hor! Hahahhaa.....
Anyway, she managed to catch it really fast and she was playing really well for a first timer! I was so proud to be her "lao si" except for the times when she started serving the shuttlecock to the other court......... That was when i told her that she returned back everything she learnt from her teacher...........
While playing halfway, Mr Easy turned up and all of us forgot to tell him that racket was dirty and he used it for the entire 2 hour game! He didnt wear any sports shoes and played barefooted. So his right hand and feet were....... dirty. Ewwww....... After the game, the 4 of us sat outside the courts and chatted about our offfice and the new admin girl. Which i will refrain from talking about here. Ugh. We then decided to go back to my place to shower and had a really late lunch at Zion Road. Lady and I were really excited to eat the delicious prawn mee from there, but the uncle didnt open till 6pm! (It was 4pm already.) But we still ate some prawn mee from another stall which was not too bad actually. We chatted till almost 6 plus where i had to go off to Chinatown to buy my lanterns for that night. Went to one shop by the main road, but they only had 2 of those cellopane paper lanterns left so i had to walk through the other side of Chinatown and managed to find a shop selling many of the cellopane paper designs! There was a really huge dragon lantern (a much bigger version of Ah Zai's lantern last year) and the uncle sold it to me for only $5 because of a small tear at the bottom which was not really noticeable! Bought a Pegasus lantern for Gaz, a squirrel for myself, a bird and a goldfish design for Ah Bin and bf as well. The huge dragon lantern was so big that i had to sling it by my shoulders like a handbag!
My mum then dropped me off at Botanical Gardens where i joined the rest of the gang for our lantern party. It was my very first time at Symphony Lake and it was really quite nice! Felt so suakoo can. So old already never come to such a beautiful part of the Botanical Gardens. Anyway, i tried to light up some of the cheap paper lanterns that we had placed at the outskirts of our mats but i burned down at least 3 of them!! Everyone begged me to stop so i had to. Had a feast of mooncakes and some warm chinese tea while Ah Bin and bf brought along a bottle of wine! After a while, Miffy tried to light up Susie's lantern (it was the same squirrel design lantern as mine) but she burned it down instead! So poor Susie had to take the extra huge dragon for our lantern walk instead...... Seems like it has become a tradition for one lantern to be burned down every year......
We had a lantern walkthrough some part of Botanical Garden (dun ask me which part because i was just following the leader) and Don, Susie and I had to keep relighting our lanterns because of the aerodynamic design of our cellopane paper design lanterns! We were super busy screaming every time our candle went out and lighting it and replacing with new candles. While the rest happily walked into the darkness. After the exciting walk, we packed up and went off to Lau Pa Sat to have our late dinner. Apparently, mooncakes only fill u up temporarily. After a while, your stomach craves for normal food.
While waiting for Ah Zai (he was talking to his group of friends) at the entrance of the Visitor Centre, the strap of my Holga gave way and it dropped onto the road!! I was hysterical and i thought my $127.05 Lomo was dead on its 2nd day. But it turned out that it knocked well and my colour flash managed to work after that!! Such is the beauty of lomos........... Wahahahaha....... So i started on my colour splash spree........... When we reached Lau Pa Sat, my eye infection got a little worse and i felt really really sleepy. must be from the badminton earlier as well. Ah Zai on the other hand, got a really bad and painful sore throat (from the mooncakes and drinking Evian! apparently a deadly combination for a sore throat!) so we retired home at midnight.... one of our earliest for the Longan Gang. Susie had to order a Longan drink for effect somemore.

Eye Infection and Mummy's Birthday!
My right eye was super super painful when i woke up and i had to drag myself to the doctor after our lunch and a short trip to the temple. The doctor thought that i looked at naked men thats why i got my infection. He was a super sadist for such cases and said that my eye infection was bad but not the worst that he has seen! Gross!! He had to take a needle to poke the pus out and kept saying that it was super juicy with lots and lots of pus!!! He even called the nurse over to check it out! Apparently i had 2 infections, one at the corner of my eye and one at the bottom eyelid. The one at the bottom eyelid was much bigger and had more pus so he removed that one instead as the corner one would subside by itself. In all, the mini eye surgery/operation costs $56!!! Wah piangs. Just to go through such torture and pain...... Boohooohooooo....
Came home after that to rest my eye because i shocked so many people in Tiong Bahru with my white colour eye patch. The eye drop is really disgusting because it can travel down to your throat and you can actually taste the horrible eye drop!! Bleh......... Went for my Mum's birthday dinner at Swenson's at Bugis and saw some thing really interesting near the moon while on the way to Great World to get her birthday cake. I shall sign off with the cool photos........... Mr brother thinks that its because Chang-Er is flying around the moon.........
Mummy and her free ice cream!
Sometimes, you won't realise that you have fallen in love with someone..........until it starts to hurt.
