Singapore Idol Finals night.....

[This blog entry is kinda late but im trying to catch up on my blogging. ;) ]

I kinda gave up all hope of Loser getting any Singapore Idol tickets for me on December 1st.... so i went to work feeling sad but still decided to remain positive and not think so much about it...... then......... at about 5pm.... CMI calls to tell me that he has 1 pair of Singapore Idol tickets!!! wooohoo!!! i had to refrain myself from jumping off my chair and hitting the 4m high ceiling in my office and tried to talk to him calmly...... my saviours that night happened to be the bosses of Jean Yip group.... apparently CMI had a meeting with them in the afternoon regaring the new Jean Yip outlet in Liang Court and the spa in KL, when Dawn Yip (aka the famous singer in our parent's time) asked CMI if he wanted to go to the SI finals that night!!! waaaa..... i was so happy..... luckily i go to Jean Yip for my hairdressing... anyway, i continued my hairdressing package with them already... show them some support. hahaa....

So, went to the indoor stadium to meet CMI there and was sooooo hungry that day as well... so i decided to grab a hotdog and got a muffin for CMI at the super crowded makeshift 7-11 outside the stadium. One bloody hotdog costs like..... $5 lor! waaa... finished every bite of it man... when CMI finally made his way there, he kept bitching about the cab driver who refused to drive him there... then we were suddenly surrounded by all these Taufik fans who came up to the North entrance and tried to persuade the guards to let them in.... my god. deja vu or something..... i was thinking to myself... was i like that before the TT concert many years ago...at this same venue?? *shudders

waited pretty long for the Jean Yip big shots to arrive to pass us the tickets.... i really thought that they might not appear! waaaa... luckily they did... like 20 mins into the start of the show. Jean Yip had a face that i soooo wanted to punch... like so haughty and she just said to her sister "Oh. Pass them the tickets." didnt seem to acknowledge CMI and hastily walked in with her handsome and charming husband behind. He looked really good... too good for her in fact... haha! And i thought he seemed like a nice guy too... some fans recognised the JY people and tried asking for extra tickets from the husband... but he was kind enough to tell them sorry. Dawn the sister was much nicer to CMI and i heard them talking for a while before they disappeared into the stadium. CMI had to surrender his digital camera at the counter and i was tempted to get a Sylvester poster from the Lime magazine counter at the entrance but decided against it. (But i bought it at the end of the show though! :P)

Our seats were pretty good.... i thought we would be given bad seats because it was so last minute... but i was impressed. Saw this 3 girls sitting at the aisle seats beside me and i thought one of them was quite pretty.... turned out to be JY's daughter... and friends. they actually looked and smelled rich. haha... and..... they were supporting Sylvester! waahhahahaa...

The sequence for the show was this. When Sly comes out, i scream, take the 2-sided Sly&Taufik flag, wave it and the yellow lightstick. When Taufik sings, CMI takes over and does the same as well. Funny we did that since both of us had the same stuff in the goody bag but we just conveniently used one set only. Oh well. It was the battle of the screams with CMI and argued about who sang better (Taufik and Sly that is...). When Sly came out for his first song, i was busy checking my phone while Gurmit was yakking away. So when i looked up and looked towards the stage, i saw Sly standing there waiting for his turn to sing..... I got so excited that i just screamed and grabbed CMI's sleeve.... so embarrassing when all the people sitting around were like in the mid-forties. Anyway, i was just "gone" whenever Sly sang and i especially melted when he sang An jing. One of my favourite songs that i liked from him. I wished he had sung the song he did for the Wildcard Special.... SSSSSWwwooooonn.... *faints*

Anyway, i noticed that there seemed to be more Taufik fans than Sly fans and i was kinda disappointed.... And you could feel the atmosphere for Taufik... like.. he was going to win. Towards the end of the show before the results were announced, i leaned over and told CMI that Sly was going to lose. Being the Taufik fan he was, he was happy that i said that. Hmpph!

I thought the 2 finalists could sycronise(sp?!) together very well and both sounded good together live. i was just dreaming that the 2 would cut an album together and become 1/2 a boyband and forget the Singapore Idol contest... haha. no such luck man.... When Taufik was crowned the winner, the stadium was just crazy and the screams were deafening. But at the same time, you could feel the wave of disappointment from the Sly's fans.... :P

Received an sms from gazerette to say that he had voted very little for Taufik (traitor).... 30 times only... wah lau eh... this kind of friend. haiz..... haha.... CMI and I was starving by the time the show ended and any kind of food sounded really good to me then... so i just took CMI's suggestion to walk to Old Airport Hawker Center (which he claimed was really near, but it was not) as we took at least half and hour to walk there.... ahhh... managed to drag my ass there and not die of hunger then. Surprising, both CMI and I managed to control our bladders till we reached home! haha.. amazing. Tucked into some famous char kwey tiao on brown banana leaf(?) at the hawker centre and CMI tried to hide behind his plate of char kwey tiao from some ex-client... Can't remember the client's name but apparently Ah Zai is doing the design for that guy's house in ang mo kio now.

Was exhausted but really happy when i reached home. Really an experience that i would never forget. :D
